BEARS is a 501c3 non-profit organization, comprising current and aspiring amateur radio operators at The Walt Disney Company, ABC and ESPN in New York City. Non-employee associate members are also welcomed.

 BEARS is a dues-free amateur radio club, operating the open W2ABC/K2JRC/N2BEI/WA2DCI/N3ADV Repeater System serving the NY/NJ/CT/DC area, and is a co-founder of DARI, the Disney Amateur Radio Interconnect, linking with the Disney Emergency Amateur Radio Service (DEARS), the Worldwide Amateur Radio Club (WARC) repeater systems.

In addition, we partner with the Peconic Amateur Radio Club (W2AMC/RPT – Eastern LI), the Network Engineers Repeater Association (WA3KOK/RPT- Greater Washington DC), the Minuteman Repeater Association (KC1CLA/RPT – Greater Boston MA) whose repeaters are also part of the DARI network.

BEARS also provides expansive DMR repeater service in collaboration with NY-METRO (NY4Z).

BEARS is the charter repeater partner for the NYC Amateur Radio Emergency Service, and supports its operations as requested.
