The Charlotte Amateur Radio Society, located in Charlotte County Florida is dedicated to public and community service to the residents of Charlotte county and the amateur radio community and provides support for ARES/RACES and amateor radio support the Charlotte county Emergency Management.  It operates a linked 2 meter and 70 cm repeater system.   Educational presentations are a feature of monthly meetings as well as welcoming and mentoring new amateurs, helping them with methods of geting on the air, which is not always simple for restricted communities.  Field activities are frequent, usually monthly, and cover a divrse range of amateur radio interests and radio science.  CARS sponsors and operates the Sunshine Net DAILY 365 days  a year on the club repeater system, Wx4E and utilizes this net to provide any assistance we may provide of an informational or technical nature.  This net is, to our knowledge the oldest daily 365 day per year net in Southwest Florida.
