I received my RCC award from my Elmer - Ralph K9BED SK in 1968 while I was a novice. I remember those QSO's better than the 599 TU of today. Vote YES! Rag Chew QSO's are easy, just ask a new question during each exchange of a QSO. You learn a little about the our person and enjoy the contact more. 73 and Thank You, Jeff K9JP |

I got my RCC certificate as a Novice in 1958. I vote "yes" to revive the award, for a 30-minute QSO in any mode by any grade licensee. |

I still have my certificate from 1960. Rag Chewing has really declined with all the fast RST exchanges. Would like to see an increase in actual rag chewing. Certificates could be administered by volunteer administrators and down loaded by the awardee with little or no cost to the ARRL. |

The RCC was one of my first, if not the first award I received back, well way back 50 plus years ago. |

Like others, I will suggest that after an applicantion is approved, that email notice is sent to the new member & sponsor with a link to download or get to the certificate for self printing, but with an option to pay for a printed copy from the League. Cost contained. Rag chewing needs to be encouraged & restored, not discouraged. |

Yes, it should be restored. It was neat to receive an award as a new ham. |

I'm 100% in favor of restoring the Rag Chewers Award! I never did earn one in my 22 years in the hobby although I've earned most of the others. I think the RCC Award was a good entry level award to bring interest in chasing awards for new hams who have just gotten into the hobby. I never knew ARRL issued an Elmer Award Certificates until I received one in 2012 and then another a couple of years later. I just wonder if there are any others I have never heard of? |
