I was astonished to see the entire 28 to 29.7 MHz spectrum packed with activity November 13th, including dozens of AM stations from eastern and western Europe. One OT from the UK told me that it was just like this in the late 50's, during the greatest solar cycle of the 20th century.

If you haven't tried 10 Meters AM with your old gear, please go for it! BTW, I've recently talked to quite a few OPs with modern gear on AM that sounded very good too.

I'm on with a Gonset G-28 with about 35 Watts output. I talked with a station in Italy who was mobile and running 5 Watts. I'm going to dust of my Heathkit HW19 10 meter Lunchbox! It had is hey-day back in '59 and it will again in 2011-2012.

Lots of AM activity on 10 for at least the last month.

Look for VK2BA at around 2200Z. I spoke with him the other day.

Hope to hear you on Bob.

Since mid-November through early December, I've worked over 40 countries on 10 meter AM. Lots of great activity.

Pete regularly has DX calling him on 10 meters!! He'll have pileups before long.
