A neighbor apparently had Uverse installed a few months ago, and now I have a continuous band of noise from 3.75 to 5.2 MHz, as seen on my Elecraft P3 waterfall/spectrum display. It's generally about 20 dB above the noise floor, and is most noticeable on the top end of the 75 meter band, where I can see the noise increase dramatically above the 3.75 MHz marker. This band is listed on various web sites as the Uverse first upstream band, meaning that the offending transmitter is likely on the customer's equipment end, not at the pole or physically further upstream/downstream end.
I really haven't had the time to try to track this down any further, but it definitely has curtailed my activities on 75 meters, now. |
