ARRL President Praises Ham Radio Efforts in Typhoon’s Wake
Writing on behalf of the ARRL and US radio amateurs, ARRL President Kay Craigie, N3KN has expressed “sincere condolences to the people of the Philippines, especially our fellow amateurs, on the destruction and suffering” caused by Typhoon Haiyan. “We praise the efforts of your HERO [Ham Emergency Radio Operations] organization in assisting the relief and recovery effort,” Craigie said in a letter to Philippine Amateur Radio Association President Eduardo Valdez, DU1EV. “Our thoughts and hopes are with you during this disaster.”
