| It's funny you ask about Georgia because I was a bridesmaid at my sister's wedding in Batumi last spring. Honestly, I don't think it's just the scenery, although the scenery is out of this world. What struck me was the combination of tradition and modernity. My sister had a grand reception with Georgian dancers and a supra-feast, topped off with toasts from the toastmaster (host). But at the same time, she found this chic, modern venue overlooking the Black Sea. Everything was so warm and authentic. Oh, and don’t even get me started on the wine! The local qvevri wines were a hit with all the guests, especially those from abroad. | When I started planning my wedding, I wanted something memorable but intimate. A friend suggested Georgia. We had never been there and didn’t know much about it. We chose a venue in Tbilisi – a historic building with stunning architecture and views of the old town.
